Meet the teamBottlePrinter Lab is built for South African brands that want a bottle decoration finish that survives the real world. Our UV decoration systems are specified for both glass and PET, running lines from 1 to 5000 bottles, and built with precision-grade components that match the pace, climate and power realities of the local floor. We operate from Sunnyrock, Germiston, and cover the needs of craft beverage, skincare, and promo brands looking for reliability, not just in neat sample runs but every time a pallet leaves the door. You’ll find our gear specified in use-cases from Gqeberha up to Polokwane, especially where shelf impact has to last, not rub off before the customer even knows your name.
Our kit is made for operators with hands-on floors, not for those hoping a machine will just run itself in the background. If your business is already running a print, sign, or filling bay with bottle movement you control, you’ll fit right in. The systems shine where you’re tired of labels that wrinkle, ink that scuffs off, or foil that peels in high humidity or under sharp Gauteng dust. If your workflow is still mostly manual, or if you need print that can stretch over soft plastics and squeeze tubes, you may be better served by a different solution. UV is not suited to every substrate or to workflows built only around paper or shrink sleeves. We talk you through suitability in plain terms before any order goes to paperwork.
We start on the floor, not in a boardroom. You send us your bottle samples and we demo directly on your actual stock, logging the UV cure window, adhesion, and feel, so your line operator can see how the finish will take knocks from shelf handling and transit. From there, we pack a PromoRun kit if you want it, so every member of your team can review the finish, not just the owner or foreman. We deal in sample programmes, not guesswork. All the settings are logged so your next operator or print room team can repeat the result. Our operators are used to three-phase supply, 230 V stability issues, and how to keep a line running across load-shedding slots. You can check support for common technical and floor questions, or visit a showroom by appointment for hands-on time.
A craft gin brand based in an industrial park outside the Pretoria CBD wants a durable, low-rub logo on their glass 750 ml bottles. They email us their bottle spec, plus a set of new empty bottles straight from their supplier. Our team preps the UV system to match their bottle curve, dials the lamp settings for the local humidity, and prints a batch with the requested colour spec. The samples are sent back with a full log of the adhesion tests, so their own bay staff can try a drop test and shelf rub. They approve, we run a short batch, and include the settings report for their own records. Everything is ready to repeat as their next SKU lands.
Getting the right start saves time on both sides. Before you use our contact form, make sure you have these basics at hand:
UV bottle decoration is not magic, it's a physical print process tied to your bottle spec, climate, and line setup. If you use bottles from multiple sources with different coatings or recycled content, you might see variations in adhesion. Power fluctuations during curing (not unusual in load-shedding slots or if you’re running on a small generator) can cause under-cure, leading to scuffs in transit. Bottles fresh from production sometimes carry release agents that blunt adhesion until cleaned. If your artwork is fine-line or wraps a full 360 degrees, edge lift might appear on some curves, especially in high coastal humidity. That said, we highlight all observed risks up front. The best way to prevent surprises is to log every print setting and bottle spec, and we’ll coach your operator on what to check, right in the sample run.
