CapPrint Bench now supports direct printing on skincare closures for boutique and trial lines. This update gives personal care brands hands-on control over cap decoration for launches and samples.
Send pressFrom early 2024, the CapPrint Bench system at our Germiston floor has handled custom printing on closures for personal care. Local skincare brands can now print artwork directly onto lids, caps or small jars in-house. There’s no minimum quantity, so sample runs and boutique lines become possible without risky bulk orders. We set up sample prints for both aluminium and selected rigid plastics for teams ranging from Cape Town skincare start-ups to established Gauteng cosmetic labs. The South African-made jigs keep closures steady under the print head, so patterns, labels and branding details come out clean at the edges.
Printed caps make boutique or test lines stand out at a glance. In a busy shelf or e-commerce thumbnail, the branding needs to survive more than just a photo. Load-shedding, coastal humidity and rough transit test every layer of packaging, especially closures. We see too many labels rub off or smear in central Gauteng humidity, or lose their shine after a short trip down the N3. Direct-to-cap UV decoration resists these everyday knocks, keeping the pack neat through courier handling or a weekend pop-up. Teams can trial different artwork each month without sitting on leftover branded stock.
Mostly, we see owner-operators and brand managers from boutique skincare lines in Johannesburg, Durban and Gqeberha bringing new launches onto the CapPrint Bench. Some arrive with their own caps and test jars. Some bring blank stock and artwork references. We show them the fixture setups in our test bay and run through samples, one team from Bloemfontein even stayed to see its own cap batch come off the line. Once the artwork and fixture settings are dialled in, re-ordering is a matter of emailing your next batch and confirming the print run size.
For the curious, a few use-cases and finishes examples are online. We also invite personal care makers to visit or ask about remote sample prints sent by courier. Most weeks, cap decoration is set up on the floor, so email us to check for next open days or to try a few cap prints.
To get a sample or technical note on the CapPrint Bench for closures, send a message through our contact form. Please share details about your closure material, size and how it will be packed. This helps our team choose a compatible fixture and ink set, especially if you’re working with new plastics or aluminium. We know personal care lines can range from glass droppers to wide-mouthed cream jars, so practical advice is always given for your pack’s specific needs.
Pricing is typically quoted per batch, factoring in the closure’s shape, ink coverage and run length. No minimums are required, so boutique and sample launches are possible for any line. If you need a safety data sheet or want to check printroom power requirements (230 V single-phase is usual here), just mention it in your mail.
